Research vessels

FINMARI provides access to several research vessels operating normally offshore or along coastal northern Baltic Sea: research vessels Aranda, Aurelia, Geomari and Augusta. In addition, the hovercraft Saga allows all-year-round sampling in archipelago areas regardless of ice conditions. Each vessel has its characteristic domain of operation and capacity in terms of personnel and instrumentation, with their specific strengths and limitations. Saga howercraft, owned and operated by the Tvärminne Zoological Station. It is handy if you need to go sampling sampling when the sea is ice-covered.
