The first field deployment of laser-diffraction in-situ sensor (LISST-100X) for measurement of suspended particle size distribution and volume concentration on the seafloor is ongoing between June and August 2016 in the Kvarken archipelago (Gulf of Bothnia).

The instrument can be deployed for autonomous high-temporal resolution measurements for extensive periods (several months). The frame can be retrieved by a Fiomarine Fiobuoy AC200 acoustic release maker buoy. Click for larger photo!

LISST-100X was purchased with Academy of Finland FIRI2014 funding.
