The 2nd FINMARI Researcher Days with the new SAB were a success in Tvärminne

4.11.2016

The happy Researcher Days participants!

Finnish Marine Research Infrastructure FINMARI met in Helsinki and Tvärminne Zoological Station 1 - 3 November 2016

Full house, with more than 60 scientists and the Scientific Advisor Board of FINMARI, enjoyed the 2nd annual science meeting in Tvärminne. Presentations covered the full range of FINMARI research topics, from automatic glider observations at the Bothnian Sea to sediment biogeochemistry, bio-optical and automated imaging tools, and survival of white fish roe in a changing climate. The 60-second "elevator talk" presentations of posters were excellent as well!

According to the international Scientific Advisor Board, the atmosphere within the Finnish marine research community is enthusiastic, collaborative spirits high, and the overall coordination of scientific resources and research is ahead of many other countries. Based on their multidisciplinary experience, the SAB offered lots of insights and practical advice for the ongoing FINMARI building phase.

Thanks!!
